Patently Brilliant

PatentRoom.com examines some great designs from the US Patent and Trademark Office by looking at illustrations from patent applications from the 20s, 30s, 40s, and 50s. Truly great stuff.

One of my favorites is this hood ornament, which I believe I've seen as a spaceship in at least one movie.

I am amazed that they have taken the time to scan the images of patents. That is a good idea.

For a more general patent search we now have FreePatentsOnline. They do a much better job of presenting the data than the USPTO itself does!

It's a great idea. I'd like to see some of the really old images from the early days of the patent office. I think that it would be a great way of learning the history of the times.
